File is Damaged
I am using Adobe 5. I am opening a pdf and populating it within a web application. Recently my application stopped working. When I click the button to open the pdf, Adobe opens and processing starts but then I get a message in the adobe window that the file is damaged. I can't figure out what could be wrong.
The same code works on other machines but not my development machine. It must be some environmental configuration. Please help!

What are the differences between the machines? Has anything on your system changed recently?

Re: File is Damaged
they all have somewhat different environments. it runs on my Windows NT machine. It runs on my client's machines and server which are Windows 2000. My development machine is Windows 2000. I dont know what might have changed on my machine....a windows patch? I was putting code into new pdfs to include in the application and it seemed like in the middle of one form it stopped working. I can't think of a change that happened at that time.

Re: File is Damaged
Maybe just try re-installing AA5; from what I have read/heard/experienced, it seems to occasionally happen that a program gets 'corrupted' for (seemingly) no reason. I once came back from vacation to find that the hard drive on my computer was dead ('clunk clunk' "Cannot Find Hard Drive")!

Re: File is Damaged
When you reinstalled, did you uninstall the previous version and delete the folder it was installed in? The folder deletion is also important. You should then reboot before you reinstall.

Re: File is Damaged
And don't forget to make sure ALL other programs, including anti virus, are shut down. There have been a number of reports where simply shutting down anti virus and then re-installing have cured problems (although not these).
