Default File required for Contribute compatibility not found

Whenever I connect to the server in Dreamweaver I get the following error...

The file required for Contribute compatibility does not exist on the server.
Would you like to turn off Contribute compatibility?

I don't want to turn it off as it's working fine apart from this error message
    - I can edit pages etc. but why is the correct file not there and how do I get
    it there?!
