    Default file transfer from 98 version 1 to XP home

    If both computers have Network cards I would use a cross
    over cable between the two computers. You can use the
    Net Use command to browse to shares on each computer by
    IP address\share.

    You can, but will have to buy the required cable.

    If it's a one off your best bet is to temporarily connect the old hard
    disk to the new machine.
