How to fill open path?

I don't have Freehand open in front of me but I think there's a
preference to draw fills on open paths. Otherwise you have to close a
path to have it draw the fill.

I dont think it is checked by default.

By default, FreeHand's does not fill open paths. The best way to show the
fill is to simply check the 'Closed' checkbox in the object inspector. The
preference Martin refers to will cause only newly-drawn open paths to fill.
