Fill not working
I created a graphic using a combination of the vector line tool and the Free form tool. For example the image is of an owl I not that it is constructed I want to fill in color within the image. I would like his feet to be a solid color orange but it when I select orange as a color and use the paint bucket tool it won't let me fill in these areas. How could I enable this to work? I just want to fill open areas with diffrent colors.
Thanks
J

Re: Fill not working
Most likely, you're selecting the paint bucket tool that's used for bitmap
graphics. To fill a vector, select the vector with the pointer tool, and
then choose the fill colour in the Properties Inspector.

Re: Fill not working
Could you provide step by step directorys for what you are doing.
I tried to to do what you were and could not get anything to fail.
Are you working with any layers? Do any of them display as locked?
Could you post a sample PNG some place?
Are you using MX or an earlier version of Fireworks?
Cheers,
Sam

convert it to a closed path when you can draw a triangle that's already
a closed path with the Polygon tool?
Press on the Vector Rectangle tool until the rest of the shapes fly out.
Select the Polygon tool. In the Properties inspector, change the number
of sides for the Polygon to three. Drag out your triangle on the canvas.
While the triangle is still selected, click in the fill color box of the
Property inspector to open a swatches palette. Use the swatches palette
built in color picker to choose a fill color.
