Filter for Faxing
What procedure is best for preparing a photo for Faxing?
I don't do this often enough to justify a dedicated plug in.
Thanks Robin

Re: Filter for Faxing
The answer depends on the fax machine/fax software. Until, I think, version 10, Symantec WinFax Pro only sent bitmap images. Now I think there's an option to send dithered images - I don't know for sure.
So the real answer is: find out what your fax software or fax machine can do, then prepare your image accordingly.
Peace,
Tony

Re: Filter for Faxing
Change to Bitmap Mode at 200ppi with pattern dithering. Looks abysmal on
screen but
prints and faxes well

Re: Filter for Faxing
I second Len’s suggestion. It doesn’t really matter what kind of format the fax software you re using is (assuming you aren’t printing it out to fax on a conventional fax machine) when it prints, it will be one color bitmap (not grayscale). Your best bet is the bitmap.
