Finally got my Canon Rebate check! - Photography

The process started back in November. It took 3 weeks for Canon to acknowledge receipt of the paperwork, another 3 weeks only to find out that I had not followed the mail-in doents correctly. The problem, besides I can't follow directions, is that they require "copies" of three items and the cut-out (not a copy) of the Rebel logo on the box top. I had not followed the mail-in doents correctly. The problem, besides I
can't follow directions, is that they require "copies" of three items and
the cut-out (not a copy) of the Rebel logo on the box top. So I was
notified by mail to send in the cut-out logo (another couple of weeks to
receive the paperwork from Canon. Sent in their letter with the cut-out,
and another 3 week wait to receive the check. No problem, my fault. Or was
it? Maybe the directions for the mail-in receipts was too simple to follow,
and then they trip you up by requiring the cut-out logo. I bought my Rebel
from Sam's Club as the Rebel kit. It included the body, basic lens, extra
battery, and a nice Canon logo camera bag. Initial cost: $899. Then Sam's
reduce the price $50, which I got refunded since it was within the 30 day
policy. Two days later they reduced it again by $60. After I pleaded with
the manager, I got another $60 back from Sam's. Bottom price at Sam's was
$780. With the $100 rebate from Canon, my bottom price is $680

I think the instructions clearly ask for a cut-out of the logo plus
bar-code tag. I got mine pretty quick, in about a month or so. Got mine
from BeachCamera for $803 including free shipping. So came to $703
after rebate with the kit lens.

The use percentage of rebate forms is only about 10%, but it ers,
er, encourages people to spend more money up front.
