Find parentheses - Coldfusion - Advanced Techniques

im trying a REfindnocase statemen of a very long string that contains " parentheses I have tries the following: #ReFindNoCase("[["]]", tResults,startcount1)#> #ReFindNoCase("[[']]", tResults,startcount1)#> etc none of it works, can anyone help me to figure this out please...

    im trying a REfindnocase statemen of a very long string that contains "
    parentheses
    I have tries the following:
    #ReFindNoCase("[["]]", tResults,startcount1)#>
    #ReFindNoCase("[[']]", tResults,startcount1)#>
    etc
    none of it works, can anyone help me to figure this out please

    Are you trying to find parenthesis: ( ) or are you trying to find double quotes " ?

    Did you try?

    ReFindNoCase(chr(34), tResults, startcount1)

    Where do i find a list of all the charaters etc

    Just google for "ASCII values" and there are loads of charts .. .or you can just use CF functions:

    <cfset theChar = '"'>
    <cfoutput>
    ASCII value of #theChar# = #asc(theChar)#
    </cfoutput>

    You could probably lose the RE and the NOCASE from that one, I reckon ;-)

    Fine, fine. Go ahead and try to simplify things why don't you ? ;-) Of
    course you're absolutely right. The regular expression is overkill when a
    simple Find() would do.
