••• Finder preview missing sometimes

I have noticed that some .ai files in the finder do not have previews and I havent been able to figure out why. When saving as a .ai what will cause it to not have a preview in OSX's finder? I did a search for this and found a forum topic but noone replyed to the guy. I believe this is an issue with files locally and on a server. Also some files dont even have previews when using the open command in illustrator ... thats just laughable. The only thing i have been able to do is use PS CS's file browser and then drag them onto the illustrator icon in the dock.

p.s. will there be an illustrator CS patch anytime soon, its much better then 10 but it crashes way too much on all of our mac setups (G4's, G5's, OSX.2, OSX.3, Suitcase, Font book etc etc)

You mean the native AI doc icon in the preview pane? I get that for AI8, 10 and CS files on a network - pretty annoying. It seems a random selction do this.

You may want to reply to Adobe's plea for feedback on the crashing issues in this forum. Hopefully feedback will help Adobe target the problem.

I checked both my local HD and the network and they both have ai files with random icons missing. Maybe it has something to do with fonts that arent activated or certain patterns etc.
