"Fireworks could not find an HTML Table in This File" - Macromedia Fireworks

Hi- I am working through a tutorial in which I create hotspots and then export to an HTML file. I followed all the instructions in the book, but when I try to open the exported HTM file in Fireworks, I get the error message "Could not open the file. Fireworks could not find an HTML Table in This File." I must admit that I am using a Fireworks 4 tutorial that I got from my local library even though I'm running Fireworks MX 2004. Default "Fireworks could not find an HTML Table in This File"

Hi- I am working through a tutorial in which I create hotspots and then export to an HTML file. I followed all the instructions in the book, but when I try to open the exported HTM file in Fireworks, I get the error message "Could not open the file. Fireworks could not find an HTML Table in This File."

I must admit that I am using a Fireworks 4 tutorial that I got from my local library even though I'm running Fireworks MX 2004. But it seems simple enough taht is should work the same way. the tutorial doesn't have me making slices and it specifically instructs me not to export slices. Has something changed between 4 and MX 2004 that causes this error? Any ideas how to get around it in the new version?

    Thanks for your help.

    Peace out,

The tutorial is incorrect. The hotspots must be on slices to export HTML.
