Default Fit Frame to Content bug?

I have a 1-page ID CS2 file that has four colums of stacked text boxes, none threaded. On opening this file, I find that the left-most column of text boxes has the "fit frame to content" menu item greyed out. The key command does not work either. I am sure that these text boxes are not threaded. All other text boxes appear to behave normally.

I have closed ID and reopened, the problem persists. This appears to be the only file that suffers from this problem.

I can fix the file by creating new text boxes, and copying the old text back into them.

This seems like a bug, no? Or is it a corrupt file?

    Using 4.0.4 on a G5 Mac running OSX 10.4.7.

Are you sure that frame is a rectangle?
Call Object > convert frame > rectangle and try again.
