Five Color PDF
Hi,
I have a PDF of a catalog that is 5 colors; CMYK and a spot color. The 5th color is used for the prices of the items shown in the catalog. I want to turn off this spot color and save it so I can have a catalog with prices and one without.
Anyone know if this is possible?

Re: Five Color PDF
Assuming that you have Acrobat Professional, and you're printing separations, no problem. That's easy to do in the Print dialog box > Advanced Printing.
If you're printing to a composite printer, that's not so easy.
Basically, you want to go back to the application that created the PDF, and create two versions there.

Re: Five Color PDF
Dear Warren
You might want to try pdfLayerMaker from callas software (www.callassoftware.com). With this tool you generate a layer for every Spot color (using the profile "enumerate spot colors"), turn off the SpotColor you don't need, flatten the PDF and save it.
The profiles used in this peace of software can get generated using the Preflight tool from acrobat.
Another possibility is to use pdfColorConvert from callas software. There you can rename the Spot Color to "None". This lets every object defined in Spot Color to "disappear".
