Default Fix for Text Scaling Bug yet?

The problem with scaling a block of text that contains tabs has caught me again recently, and was wondering what the status for a fix was. This issue has been discussed previously - scaling up a block of text increases the point size, letterspacing, custom kerning, leading, embedded hard returns, overall block of text size, EXCEPT FOR THE TAB SPACING, which retains its earlier, now irrelevant settings. Mordy has claimed that he believes the correct behaviour is not to scale the tab settings, yet previous versions of Illustrator including 10 scales them and so does InDesign CS! What's the story?

Workaround: Go to Effects - Distort & Transform - Transform. Enter your scale value. Click OK. Expand Appearance.
