Default FIX THIS PIECE OF CRAP NOW!!!!

    Dear Macromedia,

I am begging you to PLEASE fix this piece of crap called Freehand. I have wasted time and money trying to distort and output a file that goes to press tom. The file has no imports and is only vector based.

I am using a G5 Dual with 2.5GB Ram and OS10.3.2. Freehand 10 and MXa

    David,
Nowhere in your post do you indicate just what's not working or what's going
wrong. What do you mean by trying to "distort" a file?

    Hi Bill,

In my frustration, I forgot to mention that I got a constant memory alert and quitting problem. Distorting is used in the Flexographic industry to compensate for plate thickness. The same file step and repeated beautifully in IllustratorCS and I wont to know why FH can't do the same?

FH does have a problem with files that are vector intensive and I hope that it would be addressed in a future update. If MM or anyone wants to try out the said file, please let me know.

    Regards,
    David

Are you talking about when you need to distort for the plate wrapping
    around the cylinder?

If so, have you tried in the Print dialog box, changing the Scale % from
'Uniform' to 'Variable' and altering the X or Y dimension?

You still haven't detailed the problem(s), so folks around here might
    try to help you.

I think you misunderstood my post as I already know how to distort and step a job. My issue is the constant quitting while trying to achieve these simple tasks. Thanks anyway for showing interest.

I have found that Freehand MX likes lots of memory (I have 1.5GB installed on
my Mac) so ensure you have no unneccessary programs open. Also some fonts have
caused Freehand MX to crash. I use Extensis Suitcase to manage fonts and I have
turned off all fonts I am not using (ensuring the Preview Pane in Suitcase is
closed) and then quit Suitcase and Freehand. I then open Suitcase and the
Freehand. Sometimes these measures have to be combined with a restart

However, I do share your frustration with Freehand MX. FH10 was relatively
stable and did all that I asked of it. I find MX very unstable and I currently
have major printing issues with it

    Kind regard

    Simon,

Thanks for responding. I am so desperate that I will another $100 just for MM to fix the constant quitting and font family grouping issue.
