Fixing Layers

I am fairly new to Dreamweaver so I am sorry if I don't explain this problem
very well.
I am using a hidden layers for a site I am designing. Basically when you role
of certain parts of a logo on the page, the layers will appear. This is all
working fine.
However as the size of my web page is slim, 500px, and the table is alligned
centre, when the layer appears it appears to the left of the page, It would
look great if the table were alligned left, but as it isnt, it looks all wrong.
I have tried everything I know to fix the layer in the correct position.
Could anyone explain in simple terms (maybe a step by step guide) how to do
this?
