Flash 9 issues - Macromedia Flash Player

I've been having trouble as of late with Flash 9 (as of now, it's not installed on my computer due to this issue). When I had it installed, I'd get an error on my Internet Explorer, saying that "a serious error has occured (not exact wording)" due to Flash 9 ocx and has to close. I looked for a solution to this issue on the Adobe site itself, but so far I haven't found one :frown:. Anyone else having this issue? If you have, what have you done to solve/fix it? Any help would be welcome. Thanks ^_^....

I have several issues with Flash Player 9.

The Kuler site will not recognize that I have the latest version installed.

Occasionally, when playing a Flash movie, IE7 hangs up when I try to close the
    window.

I am having these problems on both my computers, a desktop and a laptop. They
both are running XP Media Center.

I also have Flash Professional installed on both machines.

These are the kinds of problems that leave a bad taste in consummers' mouths.
There is no installed user base that is big enough to protect a product from
    obsolescence. Remember Netscape?

(I know that this is a user-to-user forum, but I'm hoping that someone from
Adobe is smart enough to monitor this forum.)

    Thanks for any help.

have the exact same problem as Angry at Flash and as Ms Curet and Candykid
(see 12/25 post) and it is very frustrating. I kept sending a report each time
to Microsoft, and they indicated that Adobe knows of this problem and has no
    fix. (problem is 9e.ocx).

If anyone from Adobe reads this and can advise if this is so, and when it will
be fixed, I sure would appreciate it.

I can't get the flash player to download at all, not on IE7 anyway. I really
don't believe the problem is with the flash player but with IE. When I use
Mozilla the player downloads and works perfectly, on you tube or anywhere. My
daughter received a doll for christmas that the flash drive diverts to IE and
needs the flash player, unfortunately the whole process will not work now. I
get no error message when I try to download and install, it just never
installs. for some reason IE is blocking it. All of my security is set to
accept and when I try I make sure all of the pop up blockers and ANY thing else
that would block it is off. Does anyone know how to fix this??? Please help, I
know of 3 other people who are having this same problem.

I just had this issue occur again last night and I had to uninstall Flash and then reinstall it. This is getting old fast...

I'm still having this problem. It all depends on what site i'm on and what day
it is. I can go a week and not have it crash because of this error. Then there
are other days it crashes all the time. As for what Angels mom said about
thinking it's an IE problem. I Installed both Mozilla and Ophera hoping that it
was just an IE problem but it still crashed in both of those browsers, more so
in Mozilla then it did in IE. It would be really nice if adobe would fix the
problem. I've been looking for a fix for it for over a month now. It's really
    irritating.

Please try this workaround and report back here if it works for you. Adobe
said it won't look into my Flash9E.OCX browser crashing problem, because my PC
is below their 450MHz. minimum. I got Flash Player 9 on my 300MHz. 128mb.
Windows 98SE with Explorer 6sp1, by visiting a news site. Uninstalling '9' and
reinstalling '7', not the answer. In Explorer: Go to 'tools' 'Internet
Options' 'Advanced tab' - Uncheck - "play videos in web pages", in Multimedia
    portion.

I did go to IE7, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and under multimedia
unchecked "Play animations in web pages." There was no "play videos in web
    pages." Anyway, this did not work. Still searching for solution.:sad;
