Default Flash causes browser to crash.

When trying to load a web page that has flash content using Flash
Plugin 6.0r79 and linux , my browser crashes, this can be any browser
    mozilla, konqueror, etc.

Using flash 5 plugin presents no problems, but with many version 6
movies now on the net, id like to use version 6 plugin.

All fonts needed are installed on the system, i have tried various
distros ( Debian woody, RH 8 and RH 9), with different versions of
    window manager, and all fail.

I have other systems running this plugin and they all seem to work
    fine.

The video card is a Nvidia Riva 128, running at 15 bit depth, it wont
do anything above this, i am also running X-Windows with Xinerama, but
disabling this and using just one monitor makes no difference.

Does anyone have any ideas what i can do next. ?

Default Re: Flash causes browser to crash.

I have a similar problem. Flash movies load fine in MSIE 6, which is
my default browser. However, I keep a copy Netscape 6 on my PC (Win98
SE) in order to test the web pages I write on "that other browser" and
often (but not always) the Netscape browser will crash when loading a
page with a Flash movie. Netscape, I find, often crashes when loading
    Java applets, as well.

This is one of many reason I don't use Netscape when I surf the net.
Unfortunately, a lot of people do (especially those with a bug up
their toochas about the evil one, Bill Gates.) I fear Netscape users
won't visit my site if it continually causes their browser to crash.

Is there a know reason for this, and what can be done to solve it?

Operating system is Debian Woody, with KDE 3.1. Also ive tried RedHat
8 and 9 on the same machine with the same results.

    Browsers are :- Mozilla 1.0 , Galeon 1.3.5 , Konqueror, and Opera
    7.11.

    Flash 5 plugin works fine.

Same computer with Windows XP (which i want to remove) runs fine with
    the latest flash plugin.

I am wondering if it is hardware related, as running debian on my
laptop with the same plugin works fine.
