Flash crashing Safari
Used FW migration to copy my stuff from a 20" iMac G5 to a new Intel iMac 24",
on which I'd done a clean install and full update of everything to latest
versions. Then, when I updated the Flash plug-in to the latest Universal Binary
version, it started crashing Safari.
I've used the uninstaller twice, and re-installed Flash twice, and got the
same problem every time. For some reason, there seem to be also some sites with
Flash content which will not work using the Flash support in QuickTime (as
detailed on MacFixIt), and such sites keep popping up the prompt to go download
and install the very plug-in that crashes the browser!
Has anyone else seen this problem? Nothing I can find here on Adobe's website
seems to refer to this specific issue, with all latest versions.
