Flash Installed but not working
I am having trouble displaying flash content in websites. I am getting the
message "you either have javascript disabled or an old version of flash
player". When I use the "web player test" feature on the Adobe site it says
flash is working and gives the correct version number.
I have Javascript enabled, I have the latest java installed and I have tried
different versions of Flash player
I have been through the uninstall/install sequence numerous times using
uninstallers downloaded from Adobe.
I have tried IE6, IE7 and firefox and none seem to work.. I have checked
through my settings in internet explorer options and nothing seems to help. I
also reset the settings and went back through and set-up everything again but
still no joy.
When I opt to display error messages for script errors I get some of the
following errors:
"SWF Object" is undefined
"UFO" is undefined
unterminated string constant
object expected
"undefined" is null or not an object
I used to be able to view flash stuff no problem but it just suddenly seemed
to stop working for no obvious reason.
I noticed that in Add/remove programs I still see Macromedia flash player 8
(even after several attempts to remove it), as well as Adobe Flash Player
ActiveX.
Any ideas?

Re: Flash Installed but not working
I have partially resolved this problem by going into
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Macromedia\Flashplayer and deleting the safe
versions folder. Then use the uninstaller tool and then installed an older
version (8.0.34.0) downloaded from Adobe and restarted the system. I had all
browsers and messengers closed and disabled my Norton Internet security and
anti-virus.
My problem now is that it only works on my user account but not the other
accounts on the system. Any suggestions?

Re: Flash Installed but not working
I am having the EXACT same problem. SUDDENLY flash content became inaccessible,
and downloading all the updates and installs still yields no viewable flash
content. I've even scrapped and re-installed all my browsers. Ugh!
