Flash keyPress ignored while in Director - Chuck? - Macromedia Director Lingo

I've been brought in by a company to troubleshoot a client Presentation. It was built in Flash but then they needed some higher-end functions, so it had to be embeded in Director. So far so good. Problem is that now the Flash is in Director it's ignoring it's keyPress's. These are used to navigate (obviously). There is no time to rebuild all the navigation in Director, although I'd prefer to. Considering how flakey Flash is in Director, someone must have come across this before? Thanks for any help....

    Try this

    on prepareMovie me
    sprite(2).actionsEnabled =True
    sprite(2).buttonsEnabled=True
    end

--sprite 2 would be your flash sprite

Cheers but actionsEnabled = TRUE is set by default.
    I should be clearer -
The KeyPresses sometimes work. They're temprmental and unreliable.
I need a way to force them to work.
