Flash player not installed? - Macromedia Flash Player

I have firefox, which is having issues playing embedded youtube vids, so I need an external player to play them. I downloaded Quicktime, which is telling me that Adobe Flash Player is not installed on my pc. I can't find it anywhere on my pc, so I'm assuming it isn't there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the flash player at least 3 times, to no avail. I'm not sure what to do at this point....

    Default Flash player not installed?

I think I have the same problem.

I have win XP and IE7. I have Sony's Picture Package installed for my digital
cameras. Everything worked fine until a month or so ago. If I try to open
Sony Picture Package, I get an error message that says:

"to run this application, you need to install Macromedia Flash player first."

I've installed flash, shockwave, and quicktime and nothing works. I am also
unable to listen to sirius satellite radio because the player won't connect to
    the stream.

I have 1 PC that works correctly, and the only difference I can see is IT (the
machine that works) has something with Macromedia installed on it. I go to
control panel and add/remove and it's listed there. Yet I can't find anything
but flash, shockwave, and quick time on the adobe site.

    Please help!

    Hi
Same problem for me. Picture Package (for my Sony P150 Digital Camera) keeps
prompting for Macromedia Flash, even though I have removed and reloaded 3 times.
I have just reinstalled XP Professional. I am behind a Netgear Router.
Everything else is mainly default. Picture package seems to be the only issue
    Any Ideas?
    Thank you

It sounds like I'm not the only one that has trouble downloading Flash Player.
I've downloaded many times. Neither the tutorials that use Flash Player or
emails that use the program work. It is as if I never downloaded Flash Player.
Then I uninstall and try again, again and again. I'm at my wits end.

I have talked to Adobe a couple times and their assistance proved to be
    totally worthless.

Surely someone has the answer to our problem? Please help.

This is a bug in the Picture Package s/w. The only way to resolve
this is to go to the download site at: http://www.ppackage.com/e/index.html
and find your version in the latest date box. Select the SAME major
version that you are already using (eg; 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, etc.).
Download the 'Writing Engine Updater' file and run the update. Mine
went from 1.6.000 to 1.6.603 and resolved the problem.
