Flash Player won't install.
I'm running Windows XP Home and am getting the message "Installation Failed or
was cancelled - Try Again or Cancel" or something to that effect.
I'm logged in as Administrator and can't find any problems with permissions in
the registry. I've tried disabling Pop-up blockers, Norton AV and Norton
Personal Firewall but nothing seems to work.
I originally had a previous version of Flash Player (unsure which one) but
discovered it wasn't working so I uninstalled it using the Windows utility. I
then ran the Flash Player uninstall utility and ensured no remnants were left
in the Macromedia folder.
It's important for me to get Flash Player up and running since my company uses
it in recurrent training modules and I would be grateful for a solution.

Re: Flash Player won't install.
Hi Jan Wikstrom,
If the following instructions fail to install Flash Player on Windows send me
a personal email and I will help you resolve this issue.
Email: support_flash@hotmail.com
Instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Flash Player:
1. First download the uninstaller to your desktop from here
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
2. Before running this uninstaller be sure to read the instruction and close
all running programs.
3. Open the following folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
4. Run the uninstaller
5. What files are left in this folder? C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
6. If there are files left, delete the Flash folder.
7. Install the Flash Player from here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
Also, the following forum has some instructions that will help you compare
your windows system registry with a healthy registry to see if there are any
difference.

Re: Flash Player won't install.
Thanks Darren, but I had already tried what you suggested without success.
However, I solved the problem (I think) by doing an Express Install on the
www.hilton.com website. Then I tested the istallation on the Adobe site which
confirmed a good install of version 9,0,45,0.
I'd like to know if any functionality of the Flash Player is lost by doing the
Express Install versus the "normal" download.
