Flash Plugin Reboots Windows XP
Did a fresh install of Windows XP Home the other day, and when I re-installed
Firefox, the Flash plugin started to give me so serious problems. Every time I
visit a website with a Flash animation of any kind, be it YouTube or something
with a flash interface, my computer instantly reboots. One second, YouTube, the
next second, BIOS. There is no warning of any kind, no error message, and when
Windows boots up, it makes no mention of a crash (no scandisk, no "windows has
recovered from a serious error", nothing).
It's starting to drive me crazy. I've installed the FlashBlock extension for
Firefox as a stopgap measure to allow me to actually browse the internet in a
semi-regular way, but it's still pretty crippling.
Now, the problem is that I can't find a solution to this problem anywhere. The
only reference to it that I've found is in a forum post here:
http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-software/501410-solved-flash-sites-cause-ins
tant.html and the solution that worked for THAT GUY doesn't seem to work for me.
Oh, also: The solutions to the crash problems in the flash9.ocx thread seem to
apply to me either.
Anybody heard of this problem? Any thoughts? Help? Please?

Re: Flash Plugin Reboots Windows XP
I have the EXACT same problem and have been having it for SEVERAL months now!
I have tested all of my hardware, reformatted my hard drive, and it still
reboots any time Flash is used. No BSOD or anything. I tried the "fix"
described in the previous post and still does it.
PLEASE HELP!!!
