Flash SWF file not playing
Yeah, I exported my flash movie as an swf file and I've sent it to a couple of
my buds to see what they thought of it. However, their flash player wouldn't
play it and I dunno why....Does anyone know how I can maybe upload it and how
would I do that?

Re: Flash SWF file not playing
Perhaps they don't have the version of Flash Player needed to display
your movie? What version did you publish it as? Do they get a blank
page or a 404? If they get a 404, then the URL is wrong. If you supply
a link to the the movie, someone here can check it and give you a better
analysis.

Re: Flash SWF file not playing
Oh, I sent them the .swf file and that didn't work until I uploaded it to my
web space I have and it finally worked.

Yeah, the buttons on it were a flat image as well as the rest of the jpeg file
and so I used Photoshop to erase the text on the buttons and replaced it with
stuff I want it to say. I made them into buttons using fireworks and right now
I need help on the buttons in Flash. I imported them into flash but the buttons
are no longer selectable...Also, how can I get rid of that empty white space on
my link cuz I covered the canvas with my image.

Re: Flash SWF file not playing
Which white space are you referring to? Did you already take care of the problem?

The flash swf doesn't take up the whole page, there's like white around it and I wanna know how to get rid of it.

Re: Flash SWF file not playing
Rather than link to an swf file, link to the html page that has the
Flash movie embedded in it. That way the movie will be displayed as
intended. When linking to the swf file, browsers will expand the movie
and it'll look icky.
Open your fla, go File > Publish Settings and from the Formats tab make
sure the SWF and HTML options are checked. Click on the Publish button.
Flash will generate the associated HTML page with the SWF file
embedded inside the object and embed tags (open the HTML page in an HTML
editor or text editor to see the code). The background color of the
HTML will be the same as the background of the movie. If you want the
background of the movie to be black, change the background color of the
movie to black in the Movie's Document panel (either PI panel or go
Modify > Document). Or you can just change the color in the HTML code.
Then upload both the HTML and SWF files to your server. Provide a link
to the HTML file.....for example: http://members.cox.net/volks/Home.html
