Flash Text Effects: Shimmering Text

Can anyone give me ideas on how the mouse over text shimmer effect was accomplished on this site:

It's motion tween that each botton plays when it's rolled over, I think there's a gradient mask a well. I am not sure if Flash supports gradient masks. If not, then it's a series of images done in another program.

I've done this before, make a white linear gradient that fades to 0 alpha on
both sides, now tilt it and make an MC that moves it left to right while you
mouse over it, pretty simple
