    Default Flash versions

    Hi,

I've been given some .fla files made on 'the latest version of flash' but
when I try to open them on Flash MX, I get the error 'unexpected file
format', am I right in assuming the most likely cause is that I need to
    upgrade to Flash MX20004 ??

    Is MX2004 als referredt o as 'Flash 7' ?

    Many thanks, Mike

Ask the person who gave you the files to do a "save as" and save them as MX and
send them to you again. MX cannot open a MX2004 file but MX 2004 can save as
    MX.

This is not justification enough to upgrade to MX 2004. If you do, you might
have some regrets. (read the posts).
