Flash vs Director
Hi
What is the difference with using Flash / Director to create a kiosk ? What
are the pros and cons of each software.
Can Director do what Flash can and which software has a better ease of use?
Thanks in advance :)

Re: Flash vs Director
well, Director can create almost everything that u create in flash. but there
are some things that are in Director in some extent.
U can create animation easly i director like flash, handlers, events,
controllers, buttons, comboboxes, checkboxes, bars, etc.
Director does these things in a nice way. Director is good for Presentations,
CBTs, Games, Interactive CDs, u can also create websites in it.
its up to u what u want to do.

Re: Flash vs Director
Flash is designed first for web sites, it's vector graphics make for
smaller files it's newer design fully supports multiple nested time
lines. Director was conceived before web browsers existed, it's a bit
more effecient at playing complex animations with a lot of stuff flying
around, for kiosks it handles a bigger variaty of video formats, xtras
not available in flash extend director's media types and system
interface capabilities.
Some director-OS combinations running video intensive kiosks have been
reported to crash after a time, perhaps do to some sort of memory leak.

Re: Flash vs Director
And of course Director has a (not quite up-to-date) full version of Flash in
it, so whatever you can achieve in Flash can be imported wholesale into
Director, plus you get all Director's unique features. Generally if it's a CD
or Kiosk you're usually better off with Director, if it's web delivered you
would probably prefer Flash. There is never an absolute final answer to this
perennial question though.
