What download to you mean? Do you mean the JavaScript specification,
so you can write your own code? If so, see

For the same reason they put questions in the "suggestions for additions to the FAQ" thread and ask Reader questions in the Acrobat forum.

    Default Flattening PDFS

    Hello Forum,

I sent a pdf file that was generated from InDesign CS3 in for printing. The company that is going to do printing for me says it needs to be flattened. The InDesign document is only one layer. I use the "Press Ready" setting when creating the pdf. Am I missing something?

    Sincerely,

Yes, but that's only because there is more than one kind of flattening.

The printing company meant that they wanted the InDesign transparency flattened. Export a PDF using the PDF/X PDF preset. That will flatten any transparency.

Yes, that setting uses PDF 1.4 and any transparency settings are kept
live. The industry is however moving to live transparency rendering with
the Adobe PDF Print Engine but your print provider does not fully
    support this as yet.

Try the PDF/X-1a setting instead, it will flatten your objects. Might be
wirth considering placing background objects (bottom), images (middle)
and text/vector (top) into layers to avoid rasterisation ...

Sorry. I meant PDF/X-1a. My brain was going faster than my fingers. ;-)
