Flickering rollovers - Macromedia Director Basics

I'm using the visible setting to create a rollover with two sprites. The visible of the "over" sprite is set to FALSE in a prepareMovie script. When the mouse is on the visible sprite, a mouseEnter script sets the visible of the "over" sprite to TRUE, and back to FALSE on mouseLeave. My problem is that this creates a flickering "over" sprite that won't remain constantly visible. Anyone else ever run into this? Thanks for any help! P.S. I tried using a blendLevel script, but it didn't hide the sprites throughout the entire movie....

Do you have a script attached to the rollover sprite?? If the rollover
sprite is "above" the initial image and has a script attached, you may have
problems. Or possibly the solution would be to add a script for your
mouseLeave to the rollover sprite that is appearing. Maybe you can take the
approach of exchanging the cast member on mouseEnter...

That sounds like a good idea... but I'm not sure how to do that, and I can't find the command in my Lingo dictionary.

    on mouseEnter me
cursor 280 -- sets cursor to finger
set the member of sprite the currentSpriteNum to member
    "your_rollover_castmember"
    end

    on mouseLeave me
cursor -1 -- returns cursor to default
set the member of sprite the currentSpriteNum to member
    "your_defaultstate_castmember"
    end
