Font conversion problem

I'm using Distiller 4.05 on Win2000Pro, Word 2002. The distiller comes from an old copy of FrameMaker. I installed it using all defaults, and got Generic PostScript Printer as the printer name.

The problem is when printing Verdana fonts in Word to the Generic PostScript Printer, and then using distiller, the fonts are converted to jagged ones. A check on Document Fonts in Acrobat Reader shows the Original Font to be T2, T4, TTA27o00, which seems quite odd. :-)

I've searched quite a bit and found nothing that helped, so I thought I'd ask the pros.

Use the Distiller PPD, not the Generic PPD.

Wow, thanks. Choosing the proper ppd file manually is what was required. The right one was Adist4.ppd.
