Default Font Selection in Photoshop 7

Does anyone know how to select fonts once you have them highlighted using the arrow keys. In Photoshop 5 you could highlight text and then once you clicked on the font dropdown once, you could use your arrow keys to scroll through all of your fonts and your text would reflect what the typeface would look like. How do you do that in 7

Jack I just tried it on my version and it worked as you described it should. Does the listing in the font list stay highlighted as you use your arrow keys? If not, something else on your system could be stealing the focus away.

Have you installed the 7.01 patch? That fixes a lot of bugs.

Highlight the target text layer in the Layers Palette.

THERE IS NO NEED TO SELECT THE TEXT IN THE DOCUMENT WINDOW!

Hightlight the font name in either the Character Palette (available with any tool selected) or the Options Bar (only available when Type Tool is selected). Use the up/down arrows to change font and display will update automatically.

This will work with other character attributes as well, though you have to tab out of the field to apply the change to the display.

Unless you are trying to change the font while in text edit mode.

How about that, just select the text layer and arrow through the font list.
    Nice.
