The license agreements for most fonts would prohibit that type of
distribution. In addition, that would presume that the user knew how to
install fonts, which may or may not be the case.

There are several font-embedding technologies (Google search: "font
embedding"), which would allow your viewers to view your pages in the
correct fonts, but not use the fonts for anything else. However, there are
cross-platform/cross-browser compatibility issues.

If push comes to shove, Flash also supports font-embedding, but requires the
Flash player be installed on the user's machine.

Cheers,
Sam

Could you be a bit more specific?
Are you looking for Old English Fonts?
Are you actually looking for the Beowulf font?
Are you looking for fonts that have a lot of rune-like symbols in them ?

I could only find one or two pages with the Beowulf font on it, so was
wondering what quality of the font appeals to you or suits your current
need.

You might start with the University of Virginia site main where Peter S.
Baker (who I believe did the Beowulf font) has some others all bundled
together in multiple formats.
http://www.engl.virginia.edu/OE/

Not sure what the copyright/usage guidelines are, so you might want to check
those first.

Cheers,
Sam

Hi,

Anyone got any ideas on roughly what proportion of users might have Geneva
installed? I did think it was a default font, but now I think it isn't.

Thanks

I know exactly what the number is - it's zero for Windows users. 8(

It's a Mac font.

Thought so... it's a pity as it's much more legible that Arial at small font
sizes. It is available for PC though. I have it for a start...

seems that quite a few Win users have Verdana installed as defualt. More
pleasing that Arial IMHO.

Looking for Wendish fonts for our family newsletter were going to add to the family website using Publisher 2003.
Does anyone have a link to a site that provides sorbian-wendish fonts? Free or open source related would be the best, but could shop around for proprietary created as well.

Currently using:
Win xp pro
Adobe Go Live as site editor

Why oh why?
