    If you have a few headlines that you want to have a certain typeface,
    make a gif.

    This is usually a browser issue. When you make a web page a list is set with two three other possible fonts to use if the first is not available. Usually the user browser has a setting to warn that the designated font is not available

    FWIW, it's really best to stick with web safe fonts for the main content of the site and use graphics where it's really necessary to use an odd font.

    Aside from the fact that 99.9999999999% of people are not going to download and install a font just to view a website, the technology for embedding fonts does not work cross browser or cross platform; not to mention the legalities of copyright and redistribution issues that come with trying to do something like this.

    If the visitor doesn't have the font installed they will see the site in the default font for their browser, most likely Times New Roman.
