Default Fonts available in a PDF created in MapInfodo not show up in Adobe Illustrator

I am using MapInfo Proffesional to create PDFs. Many of the True Type fonts do not show up in Adobe Illustrator CS when I open the PDF for editing. The fonts show up without issues in the PDF doents.

I use the Type Find Font option to try to change the situation. When I change all of the symbols, it changes all of the features with this font type to one symbol from the font type. They are highway shields and I am using multiple symbols that need to be displayed.

Is there anyway to True Type Fonts compatabile with Adobe Illustrator so they show up correctly without any intervention? Is there anyway to do a font search that replaces the fonts with their correct symbol?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
