Re: Fonts not embedding
Just started working in XP, and even though I have certain Fonts in my system, the Distiller (6) doesn't read them in the fonts list. Why is this? The fonts in question are the ones my customer requires that I use -- Times and Helvetica. Even when I created a special file for these fonts and selected this, and I have Times New Roman fonts in the "never embed" section, I STILL get Times NR and not Times. Help!!

Re: Fonts not embedding
Susan, it may be because you don't have the fonts installed. If you're using
Windows and are attached to a PostScript printer, the driver (usually) knows
what fonts the printer has available and shows them to you in fonts lists,
even though you don't have them "installed" in the operating system.
Not sure what you mean by, "I created a special file for this".

Re: Fonts not embedding
In case you need to use the option that created a larger sized file you can always run the Reduce File Size feature on the large PDF. It brings the size down nicely so your customers will not have large files to download and the document still looks and works great. (That feature is available in Acrobat 7 Professional—perhaps in the regular verison too...)
