Fonts outside Sys folder won't load

I ran FHMX under OS 9.2.2 with exactly the same setup as yours and no font
problems.

Under OS 9 there are a limited number of 'resources'. Fonts are resources.
How many fonts do you have activated? I'd try deactivating a bunch and see
if it helps.
