If "boot cdrom" doesn't work, then you can still do it, but it's a
little more complicated.
And you can change the boot-device setting to make the machine ALWAYS
boot from CD... But I can't think of why anybody would want to do that.

Re: force to boot from cd
From the obp promt
type boot cdrom -s
if boot don't work, verify your alias cdrom ( with the command devalias)

Re: force to boot from cd

Good morning all!
Post your technical queries to ap-csc-english@sun.com if you are based in
the Asia Pacific region (including Australia and New Zealand). This is the
Technical Support area. They should be able to point you in the right
direction.
However, unless you have a Cobalt machine - all other hardware and software
support requires you to have a valid maintenance contract number with Sun.
If you don't have one, be prepared to pay for time and materials costs.
Best regards
Andrew

time, then just type "boot cdrom" at the ok prompt. This will boot the cd
and start the install. A "boot cdrom -s" will drop you into a single user
mode console.
If you want it to ALWAYS boot from CD then drop to an ok prompt "init 0" or
"stop + a" and type "setenv boot-device cdrom".
Hope this helps,
Chris
