    You need to add an addendum to that:

    up to OSX.3.9 highlighting a few pdfs, inclusive of the ones with preview icons and choosing get info Then Change to open with Acrobat (or Reader) and then click on button below called "Change all ... "

    The addendum should read :

    In OSX.4 and above there is a slight difference:

    Highlight as above then option click or right click on a Highlighted item. a menu will come up and there will be a choice about get info Group. This opens to the same window as in X.3.9. continue as normal.

    If you just go to get info it will open your choices like in OS9 each one will open an indivual get info window. and will only make the change on the files that have the get info window open.

    Also the group for either method you should use a random sample of at least 5 files in order for the changes to take affect on all Pdf files.
