Form Fields - Keeping on Reload - HTML & CSS

Hello, Can I keep entered text and menu selections in form fields after the page has been refreshed? example: I have a application form with 4 text fields and a database driven drop menu. The drop menu contains a list of avatars which can be updated via an insert record / asp upload behaviour on a separate pop up window. If the user adds a new avatar the application form gets refreshed to display the new avatar in the drop menu. This obviously means that any text entered into the form has now disappeared due to the refresh!!!! Is there ...

Default Form Fields - Keeping on Reload

    Hello,

Can I keep entered text and menu selections in form fields after the page
    has been refreshed?

    example:

I have a application form with 4 text fields and a database driven drop
menu. The drop menu contains a list of avatars which can be updated via an
insert record / asp upload behaviour on a separate pop up window. If the
user adds a new avatar the application form gets refreshed to display the
new avatar in the drop menu.

This obviously means that any text entered into the form has now disappeared
    due to the refresh!!!!

Is there any way of keeping this text and refreshing the database driven
textbox? I have seen a similar thing on shopping sites when you enter
    incorrect information.

    thanks in advance

    Robert

try putting the values into session variables... then have your form use
those as default values (if the session variables exist)...
