Default Forms Auth Info passed to Windows Auth?

The requirement is to build an ASP.Net intranet application, so
external users can log in to the main web portal via forms
authentication, using their windows NT login. This must be done using
a standard HTML form. Once they have been authenticated and
authorized, they can get into the main portal page.

One of the options on the portal is to check your Outlook webmail
account, which transfers you to an existing email web portal. To check
email, the existing logic authenticates using windows authentication.

Put the two together, and the users have to log in twice. Is there a
way to pass the forms-based login to the Windows-based login so that
users can sign in once via forms authentication and that's it?

    Thanks for the help.

Perhaps this article might help or give you some hint on where to start.
Basically you gather the user credentials using Forms Auth and then perform
a LogonUser() to AD with those credentials.
