Forms: Possible to have drop-down AND/OR able to type "live"? - Macromedia Dreamweaver

I hope I explain this right. I have a drop-down, populated dynamically. (Coldfusion/Access) Occasionally I may need to enter something that is not listed, but the drop down is not in editable form, such as an input type="text" is. Is there any way to have both options available when using a drop-down? To be able to choose from list OR type new item? Thanks so much in advance! Ed...

    nope.

You could do it via a tick box with JS that dynamically move/hides one or the other depending on the status of the tick box...

But, is it really so much hassle to have both? :)
