Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Would somebody - anybody from the Adobe Support team PLEASE acknowledge this
request - PLEASE !!!
I have written to the Adobe Support service on three separate occasions over
the last 5 weeks and still have not received a reply !!
My conundrum is as follows:
I inadvertantly 'subscribed' to the "Dreamweaver General Discussion" forum.
Attempts to 'unsubscribe' have been woefully unsuccessful - infact, there IS NO
FACILITY to 'UNSUBSCRIBE' !!!????
As such, my mailbox is filled with 500+ replies to this forum page on a daily
basis.
(All I did was select - "Subscribe to this topic")
Attempts to cancel this forum page from my list has resulted in completely
removing the said forum from my account. Infact, I can no longer access the
'Dreamweaver General Discussion" forum and there is no facility to re-instate
it !?????
Hence why I have had to post this message on the "Dynamic HTML General
Discussion" forum page.
NOBODY from Adobe seems interested in my emails, or for that matter - trying
to help me.
I'm going mad with all these messages - would someone please be kind enough to
help me? I am desperate!
Thanks in advance

These are user-to-user forums. If you want to get in touch with Adobe
support, you'll have to do so by calling them directly. The number can be
found on the website.

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Have you tried changing your email address in the Adobe account settings?
This isn't a true remedy but at least the emails should stop coming.

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
I'm not quite sure what is going on here. I've never heard of removing a forum
from an account.
It sounds like you set up a subscription to an entire forum, not to an
individual discussion. The "Subscribe to this topic" link subscribes you to one
particular discussion. I do not see any such subscription for your forum
account.
There is also a way to subscribe to an entire forum. To do that you would
click on the Profile link near the top of the forum page, click on Personal
Options, and scroll down to the "Category Subscription" section and make sure
nothing is selected there. Any selected items will cause emails to be sent to
you.
My guess is that you had something subscribed via your Profile. I've asked the
forum engineers to check that and remove it if that is the situation. Let us
know if you are still getting subscription emails.
Thanks!!
John

PS, for quicker resolution of Forum issues please post in the Forum Feedback Forum at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm?forumid=39. Admins will pick it up quicker there.
Thanks!

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Hi there John and thankyou very much indeed for taking the time to investigate
this matter.
As of the 01 September, 2006 - I am still receiving "Dreamweaver Support
Subscription Update" messages. Usually 300+ per 24 hr period.
Similarly, I am also still unable to access the "Dreamweaver General Forum"
category. This situation only occurs when I log on.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Is it possible that you have more than one account in the Forums and the other
account is subscribed?
What happens when you go up one level here and then click on the link to go
into the Dreamweave General Discussion forum? Do you get an error message?
The only thing I can think of there is that under your Profile > Personal
Options
you might have selected that Forum under "Category Blocking". Make sure it is
not selected there. CTL-Click on the category name to deselect it and then
click on Update Profile. Also make sure nothing is selected under Category
Subscription or Category Digest. If you have anything selected there you will
get email from the selected categories.

Hi there John.
If I login and then attempt to select "Dreamweaver General Discussion" - I do
in fact receive an 'ERROR' message, yes.
I can no longer access this facility?

No. I only have the one account John.

Your instructions here seem to have fixed the problem of me not being able to
access "Dreamweaver General Discussion". It appears I did infact have 'Category
Blocking' selected.
Neither Category Subscription or Category Digest were selected.
I am still receiving subscription updates?
Cheers,
Graham

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Whew! Glad that one of them worked, but wish it was the email that got fixed. I've run out of ideas on that, sending it off to the web engineers.

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Graham, are you still getting email? The engineers confirm that your "Slingers"
account is not subscribed to anything here. Do you have another Adobe ID or
Macromedia ID that could be subscribed? Can you forward one or two of the
subscription emails to userforum@adobe.com with all the headers intact?
Thanks!
John

Re: Forum Administrators - HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP, HELP
Hi there again John.
Thankyou so very much for all your help. I am pleased to report that all of
the 'subscription' emails have now ceased. I don't know what happened ? ...
but I'm very pleased they're no longer a problem.
Thankyou once again for all your assistance!
Cheers,
Graham
