    I figured out that it was posting my posts under another thread, which I had
    started over the weekend, despite the fact that I had set it as a new thread
    for this morning. Very weird.

    Sometimes it has been known to do that if the subject line is something like
    "Site Check" - it puts it under another thread by that name. Could that be
    the case?
