Forward Compatibility?
I've searched the compatibility issue and read a great deal about not being able to open CS files in 2.02. Can CS open older files?
I'm getting my feet wet by trying to do the Total Training tutorials for ID 2 with my ID CS and am unable to proceed because I get an error message referring to the xml.apln plug-in. Said plug-in is installed and active, but I can't open the files.
Win XP Home
ID 3.0.1

Re: Forward Compatibility?
Dirck,
There's definitely something wrong with those files. I have the total
training videos and CD and the files won't open in ID CS.

Re: Forward Compatibility?
Bob, thanks for the confirmation. Is this the right time to flame you or do I have to know what I'm talking about first?

What lessons are you doing? There may be alternatives to TT.

Re: Forward Compatibility?
I started the TT lessons for ID 2 but it's not cooperating with my ID CS. I assume it's a TT problem as I see that CS should have no problem opening version 2 files.
I've found the Total Training disks very helpful in the past and was looking forward to getting a leg up on ID with them, but I can always use it as an excuse for my ignorance...

Re: Forward Compatibility?
You could try emailing TT about the problem, I have done so in the past and they have been very helpful. $149 for an upgrade may not be necessary. Didn't they use to do 10% off for Adobe visitors? I hope it's the editing that makes Steve Holmes sound like that, he never seems to stop for a breath. I just thought if it was something in particular, maybe you could post it here, that's all. I just watched the VTC one and there sure is a lot to learn.
