    Default Freehand 10 toolbars

Ok guys and gals. I'm using Freehand 10 and all of the sudden my toolbars will not show up. The main tools pallette is gone also and will not come back. I have tried deleting the preferences but that didn't help at all. I'm on a G5 running Panther if that helps.
    Any suggestions?

Know where you found the preferences? Look in the same "Settings folder." Go to a folder marked "Toolbars." Trash the "Toolbars" file located in there. Re-launch FH and you should be right as rain.

The same thing happens to me once in a blue moon. FH has been delicate about prefs and toolbars for eons now. Really quite annoying. A wonderful app, but sometimes it gets tiring having to burp the baby so much.

Hey, you're welcome, Jeff! The thing I hate most about this bug is that, once your toolbar settings are corrupted and you've been forced to trash the settings file, you have to painstakingly recreate your custom tool/palette positions. I have a smaller monitor that's reserved for palettes in all my graphics apps, but remembering where every control component of FH was situated before is sometimes a bit trying.

    Anyway, glad it worked. Cheers.

Here's what I do. When I have my toolbars set up as I like them, I quit FH,
go to the Toolbars folder and make a duplicate copy of the toolbars file.
Then when the working copy gets corrupted, I trash the bad one, make a copy
of my duplicate, call it 'Toolbars', and I'm back in business.

D'oh! Of course, Judy! Thanks for the suggestion. Glad to see I'm not the only one that's had this happen. It's weird - I remember this sort of thing happening since version 5.5, when I started using it again after having first started with FH back in version 2 or 3, when it was an Aldus product.
