    Hi,

eraser tool there is... can't remember if it initally was in my toolbox or I
moved it there myself.. anyway.. try this

    Edit>Preferences>Panels>Show tool tips
Now you get a hint of what all the toolbars/buttons can do.

Then if you're not able to locate it, go to
    Edit>keyboard shortcuts>toolbars
At the bottom you find Tools/Commands. Enter the Tools group.
Scroll down a bit and you find Eraser. Click on it and a set of toolbars will
show at right side. Move Eraser button/tools to where you want it. Must be
within another toolbar set though - single tools can't be standalones.

This way you can pick all the tools not visible and place them wherever you
    want.

When you have customized FH the way you want, take a backup of your
preferences file (fhprefs.txt) which you find here on Win platform:
    C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\Programdata\Macromedia\FreeHand
    MX\11\English\Settings

When/if things are getting screwed up replace prefs file

    Best regards

    Try this

In menu bar at top choose WINDOWS>TOOBARS>CUSTOMIZE

That will open a window. On the left there will be COMMANDS.

    Click on TOOLS/COMMANDS.

On the right, a bunch of icons will appear. Look at the bottom
and you will see a small brownish elongated square, like an
eraser. If you hover the mouse over it, the name will appear.

Drag that thingy to your tool bar and you are good to go.

What version of FH are you using? Earlier versions didn't have it. Use the
knife tool and delete command and instead.
