FreeHand Measurement Whacked - Macromedia Freehand

:frown; I made this banner in FreeHand that I want to take into FireWorks. The banner should be exactly 705 pixels wide. I import the banner as FreeHand doc into FireWorks, only the width is now 2937 px! I opened the same into Photoshop and it saw the banner as the same size too. I have checked the FreeHand units and all. They check out. What gives?...

Sounds like a resolution issue, but I've never encountered it. What
versions of the applications are you using, what is the content of the
freehand file, and the doent resolution in each application? -Tom Unger

Using FreeHand MX 11.02 and FireWorks MX 2004.

    I'm really bummed on this.
Tell ya what go to my website, download it and tell me if you see the same
thing. FireWorks MX 2004 will show the file is 2937px wide yet I saved it as
705px wide. The content is all FreeHand vector.

When I open this file in FWMX 2004 it comes in at a width of 1008 pixels
which is the size of the FreeHand page so this is normal. If you get it
bigger than that it's because you have some wrong settings in the
Fireworks import dialog you get after opening a FH file. When you open
the file in Fireworks make sure that, in the dialog that pops up, Scale
is set to 100% and resolution is at 72 ppi. Then the file should open at
the correct width of 1008 pixels. You can trim down the canvas to the
real width of 705 pixels after opening if you want (Modify>Canvas>Trim
    Canvas).

    HTH!

I'm using freehand 8-10 and fwmx, so I may not be able to open the
files, but I see that Stéphane Bergeron has already checked it out for you
so hope you've got it sorted now...

    I got it.
Did not realize resolution could effect size. So I opened it the way you said and it came in at 705px. Opened it up in Photoshop 72 dpi and it was 705 px wide there too.

    Thanks.
