Freezing while Loading ~~~HELP~~~

My Illustrator 10 on windows XP keeps freezing during
the loading stage. It says reading fonts but
does nothing else after that. What can I do. The
program has worked fine before. I also un-installed
all adobe products and re-installed them. Still the
same problem. HELP!!!!!!!!!

I just deleted the airprefs file and im still having
the same problem. I also turned off norton... Please
help me. this is so aggervating, it was just working
perfect a couple of days ago..

okay since I seem to be the only person reading my post I will respond again. I also just checked all of my fonts and they all are working fine. I don't know what else I can do to troubleshoot this problem!

Patience! You cannot expect instant replies, especially when posting at
night on May Day.

How many fonts do you have active on your machine?

Have you tried removing half of them?

maybe 40 or so. Whatever Windows xp puts in while loading. I haven't loaded any of my fonts yet.

OK, so it's not a case of too many fonts.

In windows explorer, do a system wide search for adobefnt*.LST and delete
all you find (they will be re-built as required).

You may also have a single corrupt font on your system. If this is the case
you will need to locate and delete the offender.
