Default Frontpage 2000 on Win98 - asp pages don't work in IE6

Frontpage 2000 on Win98 - asp pages don't work in IE6

i just ran the database wizard to test access to data in
the sample northwind database that comes with
frontpage ..at the last step thru the wizad i save the
results page as an ASP page and try to open the page in
internet explorer browser .. i get the dialog box with
message "you are downloading the file xxxx.asp ...would
you like to open or save the file to your computer? if i
select open ..the file opens in edit mode in frontpage but
and does not open in browser ...i have tried to reinstall
the frontpage server extensions and checked to see if
other extensions-dependent functions like counters are
working (this works fine) the function for sending data
from a form to database does not update the database even
if frontpage appears to successfully make the connection
to the database .. what can i do to resolve this problem?
please help ...help ..help ..please reply to listserve AND
to my e-mail address also ..thanks

Try accessing your site via http instead of the file system, i.e.
http://localhost vs. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\default.htm
