FS: Canon and Lowepro gear
Hi everyone,
I'm selling some of my gear that I no longer need. All prices are in
Australian Dollars:
Canon EF 2x II Extender in as-new condition, with all packaging and
paperwork. This thing is absolutely mint, as good as new! Cheapest
retail is around $750. Asking $550.
Lowepro Commercial AW shoulder bag, black, in as-new condition,
absolutely mint! Only used once, for a wedding shoot. My back was sore
for a week afterwards, and I decided to carry my gear in separate bags
instead. A great shoulder bag, just too big for my needs. Sells for
$369 in shops. Asking $270.
Lowepro Photo Trekker AW backpack, black, in as-new condition,
absolutely mint! Only used once. A great backpack, just too big for my
needs. Sells for $459 in shops. Asking $360.
All items are as described, you are welcome to inspect them if you
live in or around Wollongong. If you'd like to check out my feedback,
my user name is "rudanek" on eBay, and that is where these will go if
they don't sell here. I have bought and sold stuff here previously,
and will supply references if required. Any other questions, please
ask!
Email me at ruda AT bigpond<NO_SPAM> DOT com if interested. Remove

hope you are not suffering from a case of double standards, based on the
fact that he's a regular here (if he wasnt a regular here, would u have the
same attitude towards my best attempt at politely pointing out his
over-optimisim?).
I merely pointed out the fact that all things considered, Rudi could've done
a 1 min job searching for completed/current items on ebay and adjusted his
price accordingly to at least the same ballpark figure of these oversea ebay
items + shipping etc, so that at least the potential buyers looking at the
FS postings on aus.photo can be at ease and know that here is a man who is
not trying to be too optimistic with his prices and thus they will be more
likely to give him a fair go instead of categorising our lovely Rudi as yet
another one of those sellers who take ppl for fools.
Thus the whole "only aware of aus retail prices" argument is fallible,
since Rudi is a ebay frequenter according to him.
FWIW, I did buy a lowepro a while ago from Canada and the shipping was about
aud$50 arriving within a week, there seems to be a common misconception
surrounding shipping costs that deter alot of aus buyers from taking
advantage of the excellent exchange rates. also the GST argument, either you
have never bought from overseas or you've never purchased anything under
$1000 from overseas & sent via postal services.
Not trying to pick a fight here, but I cannot but wonder whether there is a
double standard & favouritism towards regulars at work here. The least you
couldve done is be a little bit more impartial that way we wont see right
through ur favouritism as easily.
It is a tough world out there.

Re: Canon and Lowepro gear
What is it about some zelots that makes you want to stuff up someelses day
by introducing prices you simply can't buy at in Australia? Where did you
get the idea you were doing a *public service* by quoting overseas prices?
Where indeed did you get the idea you had some public duty to make sure
everyone *knew* you were acting in their interest?
Go and play your little Hitler games somewhere else. You have no interest in
the items he's selling, only in torpedeoing someone elses post... Pretty
poor effort at entertaining yourself.
I for one think Rudi's prices are OK, considering the stuff is virtually
new. If it weren't for the fact I'm looking for a smaller bag, I'd buy one
of his. You forgot to mention too, that you can see and feel the stuff Rudi
has for sale. Pot luck with an unknown overseas merchant. Good luck with
Australia Post handling the delivery too!

Re: Canon and Lowepro gear
The vast majority of people can't see the bag before purchasing it... And
I'd consider purchasing the bag from the US / Canada considering the
difference in price.. Even with $50 shipping, it comes off about $100
cheaper, and it is NEW, not just as-new...
That said, for some people Rudi's prices are quite reasonable.. it depends
on your priorities I guess.

Re: Canon and Lowepro gear
Why don't you let Rudi quietly sell his gears anyway ?
I believe every guys and gals with his / her cameras in this forum knew that
Australian prices ARE NOT cheap.
Why don't you just import them from Asia anyway ? [or from Saudi Arabia ?
:) ]
They are much cheaper there.
I personally buy my gears from Asia if I know what to buy.
If not, I just rang up a friend in VIC and ask him to get it from there.
Good price .. excellent service.
